Parliament United to honor Kaiane Aldorino
Former Miss World, Gibraltarian Kaiane Aldorino is to be conferred the Honorary Freedom of the City. To this end, Chief Minister Peter Caruana is to bring a motion to Parliament to confer the Honorary Freedom of the City of Gibraltar, and thus also the Gibraltar Medallion of Honour on Kaiane Aldorino for “her extraordinary personal achievement in becoming Miss World 2009/10 and for the enormous pride and global recognition that her achievement has represented for Gibraltar as a whole.”
The Opposition moved swiftly to state that it will support the motion when this comes before Parliament.
“When Kaiane won the Miss World Crown it was a remarkable achievement for such a small territory as Gibraltar and she proved to be a wonderful ambassador for her country. This is the very least that we can do to thank her for putting Gibraltar on the map,” said the Opposition. Gibraltar Chronicle
