Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab Fall 2011: One word--WOW! This high-necked drop-shoulder "Siren" gown by Lebanese Designer Elie Saab is OUT of CONTROL, those black sequins are OUT of CONTROL and that train...is yes, you guessed it, OUT of CONTROL. What a way to make an entrance darling! Her slicked hair, small metallic clutch and bangle, it's ALL good. One of my FAVES so far. Hope that train does not get stepped on and ruined by the end of the night--Elie Saab's PR people might not be too happy...

63rd Primetime Emmy Awards: Who Wore What? Gwyneth Paltrow in Emilio Pucci

Gwyneth Paltrow in Emilio Pucci gown and Neil Lane jewelry: I am just not sure about this gown. I've been viewing both the Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 and Resort 2012 Collection images and cannot find it. There does seen to be a gown in each of those collection that has some similarities to this one but just not the same gown. I have some questions: Is it two pieces? A Crop-Top and floor-length skirt? Or is there a connection piece of silk organza? She's a little "Bollywood" in the ensemble. I'm leaving this one up to you guys? Is it Good Bollywood or Not-so Good Bollywood?

Claire Danes in Oscar De La Renta Resort 2012: Actress Claire Danes chose a strapless blue sequin gown from Oscar de la Renta's Resort 2012 Collection. It features "Art Deco"-inspired geographic "print" in the sequins. She looks modern and yes, the loose wind-swept hairstyle does look "fresh" but I wonder if, especially with this kind of gown, she might have gone a more "elegant chignon route. What do you guys think?

63rd Primetime Emmy Awards: Who Wore What? Lea Michele of "Glee" in Marchesa Resort 2012

Lea Michele wears custom Marchesa modified from the Resort 2012 Collection: As you can see in the Marchesa Resort 2012 Look Book, it is in a silver metallic jacquard and on actress Lea Michele it's in a red crepe. Also, the original sleeves are fitted ones, whereas on Lea, they've become cap sleeves with draped shoulder detail. What do you guys think? Is the original design better or do you like the new "custom" one on Lea? Either way, the back is beautiful.

The Shoes!! There's always somethin' with Miss Britney! Patent leather open-toe Dominatrix platforms!!! Really??? Oh huney. Well, at least she got it 70 % right!!! I'll give her that!

Beyonce in Lanvin Fall 2011: Why might you ask would Beyoncé not be wearing her signature skin tight gown??



She's PREGNANT!! She used the 2011 MTV VMA's to let the world know that she and her hubby Jay Z are expecting their first child! Congrats Miss B!



Oh, yes, and about her gown: Designed by Moroccan-born "Design God" Alber Elbaz for the House of Lanvin, it is a coral one-shoulder caftan (caftans are VERY IN kids!!) gown that was originally shown in beige on the Lanvin runway on a too-thin model. I like it MUCH BETTER on Beyoncé! She looks positively glowing!!

2011 MTV Video Music Awards: Who Wore What? Katy Perry in Atelier Versace

Katy Perry in Atelier Versace: Asiana Mini!!! Fully sequined (by hand, thank you VERY MUCH!! It's Atelier Versace!! The brand's version of Haute Couture and probably estimated at costing approximately $30,000-40,000, if not more, if she were to actually buy it). Katy loves short beaded dresses, as I know--since she "honored" me not too long ago by wearing one of my NIKOLAKI sequined mini dresses! I think she looks sooo cute, the dress fits her just right (I think it was custom made for her) and I love that she finished off the ASIANA theme with a Japanese-style umbrella and cherry blossom flowers in her pink hair. She looks like the Hostess at a VERY UPSCALE version of Hollywood's Yamashiro Restaurant!

Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2011: Yes, we get it, Miley is all grown up. When other celebs are giving "edgy", rock-and-roll, Gothic (Selena) and even Harajuku Girl Madness (Nicki), Miley is trying to bring back the glamour. It's a printed princess-seamed slithering full-length gown from Roberto Cavalli with a high bateau front neckline and...



A scooped low back. I like the gown on her--although (dare I say this!) she might be a bit too covered up for the awards (I can't believe I just said that!). And for some reason, she added a long necklace which she "chokered" in the front and then it dropped in the back. That wasn't really necessary--even if a big jewelry firm lent it to her and she felt compelled to wear it. It doesn't work. Also, I'm not a fan of those hole-in-the-thumb sleeves. That's a bit on the tacky side. Sorry. What does work is her hair--especially with this gown. I do love it slicked back and clean. What do "we" think of Miley in this gown? For the MTV VMA's??

Nicki Minaj is "SERVING YOU" Harajuku at the 2011 VMA Awards: Somewhere in Tokyo, there are a BUNCH of GIRLS DYING over how AMAZEEEEING Nicki looks at the 2011 MTV VMA's!!!! She's a combination of a Popsicle, Cotton Candy, Hello Kitty on Crack, AND a Japanese girl with a "customized" surgical mask that are so popular in that country. In addition, it also looks as if she then just bumped into the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA on her way to the awards--and remnants of the building ended up on her!! Oh, and really WHO CARES WHO or what designer she is wearing??? That's really besides the point. Is this "Just another Typical Day" for Nicki? Do we Like? Or has the shock worn thin?

Kelly Rowland in Falguni & Shane Peacock Fall 2011: Miss Kelly. Get it Girl, as my Gays would say! Plunging, black and gold and feathered. She's got a great body and this dress just enhances it--and gives her just the right amount of "MTV "edge". Now, in case you were wondering who Falguni & Shane Peacock are. They're originally from India, "From Bollywood to Britney Spears" claimed Gulfnews.com not too long ago. Their first outside of India runway show was actually at Los Angeles Fashion Week and now, they show in London. Their sassy, detailed, futuristic frocks have attracted the likes of Katy Perry, Fergie and Nicki Minaj, to name a few. But back to Kelly and her dress: Do we like?

Selena Gomez in Julien Macdonald Fall 2011: Little Miss Selena went a bit, shall I say "Gothic" for tonight's MTV VMA's. I get what she's going for: She's doing that "thing" that all these former Disney girls do--pushing the "envelope" and being a little more edgy. When I look at the model on the runway, the black embroidered Gothic-Vampira edgy thing works. On Selena, however, it almost doesn't. Maybe it's the gold pumps, the almost-pageant-y up-do, and lest we forget: She's just so darn CUTE! A "Gothic dark" dress doesn't really belong on such a CUTE girl. What are your thoughts? Would love to know...

Rihanna in Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2011, 53rd Annual Grammy Awards Red Carpet

Well Jean Paul Gaultier's PR team was working OVERTIME! They nabbed not just one big star on the 2011 Grammy Awards Red Carpet (Nicole Kidman, see posting below)--but TWO--with Rihanna! Both gowns from the same Haute Couture Spring 2011 "Punk Can Can" Collection. Rihanna just loves the whole intermittent transparency thing on dresses. And this gown has it. Placed between the transparent panels are also gradating layers of tulle gathered ruffles. It's a bit of a mess for me. I'm just not sure if it works. It just looks like someone might have taken the Christmas Tree garlands and used them to make a dress. But...her hair and make up look GORGEOUS!!! Just like Nicole, she was wise to go a softer more delicately pretty route.

Is it a 'Yea" or Nay" on Rihanna's Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2011 Gown? I would love to know what you guys think? Be sure to let me know!

Nicole Kidman in Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2011

Nicole Kidman walked the 2011 Grammy Awards Red Carpet--hubby Keith Urban in tow--wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2011 strapless tulle and embroidered applique gown. This gown was from Gaultier's just-debuted Couture Collection which was inspired by "Punk Can Can". It's Gaultier, he's allowed to be "inspired" by ANYTHING, kids! But the funny thing is: I get it on the runway (it's a $50,000+ Couture Hand-made Gown after all!!) but somehow on Nicole Kidman, on the Red Carpet--and next to Keith--she looks a little "Country Music Singer Performing at the Grand Ole Opry". Her hair looks GORGEOUS though; soft and very pretty, love the color. I also liked her softened make-up as well.
What do you guys think? Do we Like "Country Music Nicole"?

Ciara wore a VERY revealing printed chiffon gown from Emilio Pucci Spring 2011 by designer Peter Dundas. Yes, it's the Grammys and you can take your Red Carpet Style to a whole other level--but that doesn't mean you take it to the "Miss Trinidad & Tobago/Miss Universe Evening Gown Competition" level! It's A LOT of gown! From the extra long train to the slit (both of which were not in the original runway sample as seen above). I'm also not sure if she needed to then add those black "gladiator" pumps. But then again, if you've gone THAT far (with that dress) then why not?

Is it a "Yes" on Ciara's Look? Or "Not So Much"? Let me know...
