Steven Segal is now in Texas to control the US-Mexico border a real deputy sheriff.

Steven Seagal is now coming to control the United States - Mexico border and it's not as the actor's reality series or movie. The actor was sworn in as a deputy with the sheriff's office in Hudspeth County, Texas this week. According to the San Antonio Express, Seagal personally reached out to the office several months ago seeking employment.

Those who try to slip across the Rio Grande from Mexico into west Texas may find themselves arrested by newly sworn-in Hudspeth County Sheriff's Deputy and action film star Steven Seagal. "It became very clear to me that Mr. Seagal is not in this for the celebrity or the publicity," Sheriff Arvin West told the local news outlet. "He's like the rest of us that live down here; he has a sincere passion for his country and he wants to do more to help." Seagal, currently starring in an A&E Network reality show detailing his experiences as a reserve deputy in New Orleans, contacted County Sheriff Arvin West about his interest in "patrolling the border", West said.

He was sworn in this week for the position in Hudspeth County, which runs along the Rio Grande east of El Paso, West added. Seagal, 59, could not be reached for comment. Seagal is slated to begin patrolling a 5,500-square-mile area with 98 miles of border next year. His official title will be Deputy Chief to the Chief Deputy. The typical salary for a deputy is $15 an hour.
